If I need the earlier versions, then where would I find them? Take You Harry

Recently I downloaded and tried out the CFTW ver 3.06 and I love it. However, I'm confused about the bug fixes. Currently there is listed a version 13 on the CFTW site but does it include all bug fixes todate or do I need to find the bug fixes between 7 and 12? Harry
I just posted the Dutch Spell Check Dictionary (for Ver 3) on my web site. It is on the Cumberland Family Tree web page with the other download files. Sorry for the delay in setting this up. Jon, but how does one use the AT&T site search engine? I went to the URL below and can't find out how to use the engine on my own web site. Here is a suggestion: If you go to http://sitelevel.whatuseek.com/ you will see information on how to put a free searchable index into a web page. The code bit is put into your topmost (index) page, and it does weekly updates for a searchable names index. All instructions (simple step by step) are at this site. My topmost web page links down to the CFTW3 index html page, so I don't need to keep updating it. If you look at my site http://www.societe-jersiaise.org/whitsco/index.html you will see an example of how it looks.
Good suggestion. I did not know such a thing existed. Ira At 10:50 AM 4/16/01 -0400, you wrote: >Many sites offer site search engines; in fact, just point your brwoser to >"site search engines." I am in the proces of composing a website and am using the html output in version 3.07. Is there a way of making this indexed output "searchable" by providing a name and being directed to that name in the in the index? I realise that this is probably not a proper question in this list. If not, an advise to my email adress is very much appreciated. On the other hand, in CFTW such a search method is in the program, so I wonder wether it can not be implemented directly in the html output. I hope to have made myself clear. Kasper J. Kombrink
Many sites offer site search engines; in fact, just point your brwoser to "site search engines." I, myself, use AT&T's site search engine, which just required patching in some code to my main ancestry page. Hope this helps. For reasons unknown, some browsers will reject this address the first time it is entered but accept it the second.

This is a proper question for this list. A "searchable" list would require some more programmatic solution than pure HTML web pages and is beyond my technical expertise. So I really have no ideas for a simple solution. Ira ------------------------------------------------ Mr. Ira J. I asked the very same question myself few weeks ago, and I'm sure this will surface up again. It would make sense to either prompt the user in at least one of the following: A. FAQ page. B. Download page. C. In the Installer program. D. Before/After download starts/completes. Just my two cents. -Alon.

You are right - there looks to be a bug there. But I have not worked on Ver 2 for a few years and don't think I'll be going back to this. But there is a work around. You can change sources, though you can't remove them. So what you could do is add a new source - call it "Delete Me". Then change the source to this one for all sources you want removed. Then go to the Soruce List and delete this source record. Ira ------------------------------------------------ Mr. Ira J. printing: Ancestors - List Type Format v3.05 The list generated by the ancestors tab provides a really comprehensive view of one's ancestors. However with only a small 'window' to scroll on the list, it's difficult to view the full group of ancestors. I spent a lot of time trying to print something similar with the various report functions but had no luck. Other than capturing the screen image, then cutting-and-pasting the pieces, is there a way to print the Ancestor List Type Format? thank you, Mike ==== CFT-WIN Mailing List ==== You can contact the List Manager at: [email protected] ============================== Create a FREE family website at MyFamily.com! http://www.myfamily.com/banner.asp?ID=RWLIST2
