Hi Carol, I did a little research for you and maybe this will help. First I looked up member trees in Ancestry. I found several on your Noah Taylor. Some had just Noah, others Manoah and one had Newman Noah Bud Taylor. Birth date are mostly listed as 1809 and Jan 24, 1812 VA. One tree had him married to Mary Steele, b. 1810, m. Apr 11, 1832. They had a son Hiram L. Taylor, b. 1843, d. 1933. Then he married Nancy Jane FLANAGAN in Russell Co., KY. on Aug 20, 1839. I have her birth as 1809 & 1811, both Russell Co., KY. No death date or place for her. I found the father of Noah Taylor as Edward Taylor 1784 Orange Co. VA, d. Dec. 12 1864 Whitley Co., KY. His mother was listed as Rebecca on some trees and Mary Elizabeth Knox on others. Children listed for Manoah Noah Taylor & Nancy Jane Flanagan were: Eliza J. Taylor 1838 - John Taylor 1845 - 1862 William Sylvester Taylor 1846-1926 Henry Taylor 1849 - Nancy Ellen Taylor 1849 - Joseph Taylor 1854 - I looked up te 1850 Dist. 1, Russell Co., KY census. I thas the following: Noah Taylor, age 37, farmer, b. VA Nancy Taylor, age 39, b. KY Martha A. Taylor, age 18, b. KY Benjamin Taylor, age 16, farmer, b. KY Lame Taylor, age 14, b. KY Henry Taylor, age 10, b. KY John Taylor, age 8, b. KY William Taylor, age 5, b. KY Elizabeth Taylor, age 3, b. KY Nancy E. Taylor, age 1, b. KY The 1860 Dist. 1, Casey Co., KY census shows: Manoah Taylor, age 51, b. VA Nancy Taylor, age 51 Henry Taylor, age 17 John Taylor, age 15 William Taylor, age 13 Nancy E. Taylor, age 10 Joseph Taylor, age 6 Hugh F. Sheppard, age 7 If I find anything else, I will let you know. So far I haven't found the deaths of Noah & John as being the same day. Did not find any clues on Nancy Jane Flanagan as to whom her parents were. But at least maybe you can start checking the Flanagan's in Russell County to see what you find.
