Linda, You're very welcome! Anything else easy to check on my end? Most of my family research is in Ohio, or New England so I know how that can be frustrating. Of his stepkids, none of them appear to be local. Funny how they didn't mention anything about is livelihood. The only thing I dislike about Yuba County (the county seats of Yuba and Sutter counties are separated by a river) is they don't have any easy computer index of their probate materials. Would looking at the results of his records help? Doesn't sound like there is any family line of his left.
