Howdy all! I'm sending this to two lists (Yuba Co and Goldrush)in the hopes that I will locate information on James William O'BRIEN's origins and family. I believe this relative was born Placerville, El Dorado County, California about abt. 1853. His father was James W. O'BRIEN from Ireland, and his mother was ? GEHEGAN from Kentucky. He married Sarah T WOODWARD from Marysville probably before 1888. James was a telegraph operator and the family lived in Nevada for a period of time, before returning to Oakland, California around 1920s. As I recall, someone was working on an O'BRIEN family from one of these lists. If anyone is still working on them and this James W O'Brien sounds familiar, I would really love to hear from you!
