My Hammons' got there in the 1920's. I think there was the Hammon family that Hammonton was named after. That's where the gold dredgers were. It was near the town of Marigold off the old Hammonton/Smartsville Road. There was also the Hamon Bros. that had the Chrysler/Plymouth dealership. I think it was on 4th Street. They have been out of business for abt. 30 years. Barbara
