In the first months of WW II, my father who was in the Army, was temporarily assigned to Camp Beale, now Beale Air Force Base. I was just an infant, so don't remember it, but have heard so many stories of how my father and several Army friends rented an entire tourist cabin area on a lake somewhere near Camp Beale. The only clue I have as to what the area was called are two pictures taken around that time of a white clapboard building with a sign on the roof..."Roebuck Lake Club". I suspect it is the clubhouse connected with the lake side tourist cabin area. Is anyone out there aware of the place I am inquiring about? I would so love to know more about it.
