    3. Moses was born in New Brunswick, Canada in 1825. In 1833 Moses and his siblings and mother were in New York on their way to Upper Canada (Ontario). Moses married Ann Young in London, Ontario in 1849. The Canadian census of 1851 has them in Delaware, Ontario with a son, Freman. The 1860 US census finds Moses, Ann and Freeman in Bear River township, Yuba, CA The Sacramento Daily Union dated may 13, 1869 has Moses on his wat to San Quentin prison for grand larceny. The 1870 census shows him still in prison. The 1870 census has Ann and two sons, Freman and Gervace in East Bear River township, Yuba. Freman is 19 and Gervace is 9. The 1910 census, East Bear River, Has two shepherds, Freeman and Tervaise Mellon. That's all I have. Is it possible to discover records for San Quentin? Moses was only in for six years. Did Ann re-marry? Did the boys, 49 and 58 in 1910 leave any descendants? Where can I look? Any and all replies would be appreciated. Morley Mellen mmellen@rogers.com
