I have been contact with Sam and TomMcCay of California re Samuel Owen Gunning who -- all records indicate -- was the brother of my gggg-grandfather, Patrick Gunning. All my family male members worked on the Docks, were soliders, many were champion boxers and are great story-tellers. I am interested in the note regarding the visit of SO Gunning to Mr Heggerty (incidentally, Heraughty etc is a Sligo surname). The McCays of Red Bluff are travelling to Ireland and Sligo this July.
