Hi, I'm new to the list. I need some ideas on how to search for the birth of Joseph A. Nesbitt who was b. in 1852 and living with his mother Anna and her new husband in Solano Co.in 1880. I tried solano county for Anna's marriage to her new husband (John H. Gardiner) with no luck. The newspaper, The Appeal-Democrat is on microfilm at the library, and it is possible for the librarians to maybe do a lookup and print it out for you. I do not know if they would charge or what the cost would be, but it is worth a try. Have you tried checking the local cemeteries for burial info? More than likly the persons in question are buried at Sierra View Memorial Park. Here is a phone number and address that you can call or write to see if they are buried in this cemetery. He was a native of England and 61 years of age. He resided in this city a number of years and was a painter by trade. Of recent years he earned a subsistence by cleaning up around saloons. Tom was an old war veteran having been attached to the 114th Regiment of New York Volunteers. His funeral will take place under the auspices of Corinth Post, No. 80, G.A.R., but the date has not yet been fixed. **** Marysville Daily Appeal - 5 Feb 1895 FUNERAL OF TOM BROWN The funeral of Tom Brown who formerly belonged to the 114th New York Volunteers, took place on Sunday afternoon under the auspices of Corinth Post, No. 80, G.A.R. About 30 of the Post and a few Mexican Veterans were in the cortege. The Grand Army Services were read at the grave in the City Cemetery by Commander Allen Cooley and Chaplain W.W. Russell and the religious services by Rev. J.W. Luady acting pastor of the Presbyterian Church. The internment took place in the circle reserved for old soldiers and a volley was fired over the grave. The following members of Corinth Post acted as pall-bearers: John P. Swift, Ed Hollen, George VanBuskirk, Theodore Repholts, John Bowers, John Eire.

The remains are at the parlors of Kelly Brothers, from which place the funeral will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. Internment will be in the G.A.R. Plot in the City Cemetery. Additional Notes: Issac Boomer died on 9 Aug 1913 at 72 years of age. He was a native of New York, and served in Co.F. 15th Ill. Inf.
