Hi Linda: The name you are researching is a name that is prominant in our community. There is a Rideout Hospital, there was a Rideout Bank and a mine. There were a lot of cards in the file, so I went thru and find the following that may pertain to your search. Ben Rideout 31 Dec 1890, Appeal Democrat PG3 New captain of the steamer Knoght#2 taking place of Alexander Miller, deceased. Ben Rideout, Obit 6 Nov 1912, Pg 1, Democrat Eugene Parker Riideout, native of Maine, Steamboat Captain, Father of E, W, Rideout , Brother to Benjamin, Obit from San Francisco Chronicle 9 Apr 1939. If you have any more first names, I will be glad to look them up the next time I go to the library. Thank you. Carole Harrison

Dear Bonnie! I am unable to do a search as I need more info on each of the Surnames that you sent. I need first names, dates and places, due to the number of cards listed for each of the names. Some names have one or two cards while others have many, so I can't determine the specific names you are researching. If you send more info I can then find who you are looking for. Thanks, Carole

Hi Carole, Glad to hear that you are recovered. I wonder if you could check and see if an obit exists for Amanda Burrows who died 11 Aug 1865 and is buried in the Yuba City Cemetery. I believe that she was living in Sutter County at the time but Marysville appears to have all the newspapers. Her Husband was Jacob L. Burrows. They came to the area in 1852 from MO. Thanks in advance for anything that you can find. Nice and warm here in CO this week too. Posted on: Yuba County, California Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ca/Yuba/10483 Surname: Callahan ------------------------- I am looking for relatives of Donald Wayne Callahan who still live in and around Yuba County, California. Donald was born in Marysville, Calif. on June 12, 1953. Are you a relative of his? If so, please be advised that he passed away on April 24, 2001, at the age of 47. His wife, Diana, and son, Justin, preceded him in death. I will be happy to provide you with instructions on how you can obtain a copy of his obituary for your family records if you'll just e-mail me at the above address. By the way, I'm not related to the family. I'm just wanting to help out anyone who is. Bettye
Posted on: Yuba County, California Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ca/YubaObits/10151 Surname: ------------------------- Thank you very much for deleting my post as I requested. However, you couldn't just delete it and leave it at that, could you? Apparently there's a different standard on this Board when it comes to you! You deleted my first response which referred directly to the obituary I had posted (I even had the surname in the box) because you stated "the page is for obituaries only". YOUR EXACT WORDS! Now what purpose does YOUR above post serve? It's certainly not an obituary! It doesn't even mention the surname of a deceased person so how is anyone to even know what obituary was deleted? My response was certainly more appropriate to the Board than yours since it merely told people to contact me if they wanted a complete copy of the unedited version of the obituary. The only purpose I can see that your response serves is that it just shows that there's one standard for you and another standard for everyone else, and it was your way of taking a parting shot at me, having the last word. Unfortunately, no one else but you, the all powerful Coordinator, has the power to delete posts or responses so everyone is stuck with yours. Also, no one will get the benefit of MY initial response which would have enabled them to receive a copy of an obituary which is what this is all about, or is it???????

Posted on: Yuba County, California Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ca/YubaObits/10148 Surname: Callahan ------------------------- Per my e-mail, it is my request that this obituary be deleted from your database since, as you know, you changed it and it is not as I posted it!

Posted on: Yuba County, California Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ca/YubaObits/10146 Surname: Callahan ------------------------- Please be advised that when I posted the above obituary for Donald Callahan, I posted it exactly as it appeared in the source I quoted, which is a public newspaper. Yuba County took it upon themselves to edit the obituary to delete names of surviving relatives, therefore, the obituary is no longer as it appeared in the Daily Journal of St. Francois County, nor is it as I posted it. If you would like a "complete" copy of the obituary, please e-mail me and I will be happy to provide you with same. Bettye [email protected]
