Hi, I read your message, and I think I can help you with info. My grandmother was Gertrude Roddan's sister, Hattie Belle Roddan. I do have quite a bit info. I don't know how it would be best to send it to you... by computer, or by mail. Let me know what you would like. Susan
Hi Harriette I believe we are related. My Grandmother's name was Mary Taft Lockhart. Her father was William Gray Lockhart. I have seen your messages and have been trying to contact you! I look forward to hearing from you. Maggie Wey
Hi Camilla et. al., Gideon Woodward is also my great great grandfather. I just returned from researching him and my Woodward ancestors in the San Francisco Bay area. Gideon and his wife Bridget Dufficy are buried in the Woodward plot in St Mary's Cemetary in Oakland. Also buried their are their daughter Sarah (Woodward) O'Brien, my Father's Grandmother, Michael Woodward,a son, James W. O'Brien, Sarah's husband, and Alice O'Brien, one of Sarah's sisters. Gideon was born in Hartland, VT in 1820, attended Dartmouth in medical studies but didn't graduate. He ultimately obtained his medical degree in Louisiana and practiced there for a year, then went to CA by way of Panama but apparently never practiced medicine again. His obituary and death certificate identify his profession as "Capitalist". His heritage traces to early colonial America and his grandfather fought in the revolutionary war. Please return E-mail and I will give you sources of information, etc.
Is there some very kind searcher out there who might know how I could get a marriage announcement from 1898 from Marysville newspaper? I'm looking for details of the marriage of FREDERICK KUSTER of Earle/Marysville to MARY T. DWYER of San Francisco in 1898. I'll I know is that they were married in San Francisco in 1898 per California Pioneer Roster......Mary is my great-great aunt. From the info I've received from all you wonderful folks I'm of the understanding that Frederick Kuster and his Kuster relatives were quite well known in the Earle/Marysville area. Fred died in 1911 - Mary died in 1916. Many thanks! Kirby

Hi Listers - Is there an active historical and/or genealogical society in Yuba Co.? If so, will they do research for a fee or donation? Am desperately seeking an 1898 obit/newspaper article and 1900 census info. Information will be appreciated Lynn
Hi Groups: I got today off unexpectedly and made use of it to 'look for dead people,' as my daughter so eloquently puts it. I copied the 1850 census for Yuba Co., which is just south of Butte County, and there were some county line changes that may make it worth checking both counties. I also copied: Oak Grove Cemetery Forbestown Cemetery Odd Fellows Cemetery Stirling City Cemetery (I had just the index before) Strawberry Valley Cemetery Yankee Hill Cemetery Happy to do look ups. May not get around to answering until about Sunday. Donna

If St. Joe's Bar is the same as St. Joseph's Bar I have it on a map showing it as just south of Goodyear Bar in Sierra Co. Rosemary
I just wanted to let you know, I spent Monday with some old timers of Camptonville, Yuba County, California. No one had ever heard of St Josephs Bar in their local area, which connects to the North Yuba. They did suggest looking around Highway 50 which you could find on a map near Placerville. They thought it might be in that area. Good Luck please let me know if you ever find it. My Dad has gone through all of his old maps looking for it!
