    1. [CAYUBA] SHELEY Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Vada SHELEY taken in 1905 at the Smith Studio in Marysville, California. Vada appears to be in her 30's at the time the photograph was taken. I'm hoping to find someone from this family interested in having the photograph back in its rightful place. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

    2. Harry Hamilton
    3. Craig, Thanks for the email. The description you've provided jibes with the information I had out of the History of Yolo County and from the NDWG. Certainly, there is a good chance that these are the same train. Although, I'm finding that at times the Oregon and California trails had very heavy traffic with trains only a few days behind one another. I would very much like to have a scanned copy of this, at your leisure of course. Where in Missouri was your great great grandfather from and do you know when in '57 they arrived? Thanks again. 1. [CAYUBA] Hazel Eileen Padgett ( CA )
    2. I have been trying to find Diana Lynn Pierce who was born in 1967. Her mother's name was Eileen, though I have come to believe that this is her middle name and that her first name may be Hazel ( Padgett-maiden name) . Eileen and Diana lived in San Bernardino CA and then moved to Northern CA. I have tried everything including a private investigator and have come up empty for years. I am not positive but I believe Diana's birthday is 10/17. My name is Shelly and we were best friends from late elementary until long after the move to Northern CA. If anyone can help me find Diana, I would be forever grateful! Shelly Cleveland [email protected]

    1. [CAYUBA] Re: HUTCHINS, RHODES,GALPIN, MEREDITH
    2. I don't have much, just names and places. Curtis Galpin from Missouri, had one (more?) child Lucy/Lucille born in Washington County Missouri(?) Looks like they both moved to CA in Gold time. He was to of died in Marysville, Ca. She married a Josiah Jordan Young in Indian Diggins, had a daughter Minnie before he (young) divorced her. Lucy then married a Burrows (es) had Clifford, George and Margaret, Margaret marred several time and is buried under Moran, though not her last husband. Cliff lived died in Plymouth, Amador County, and George was to of died in El Dorado. Cliff and Margared I knew. I have Lucy as being buried in El Dorado county, but wonder if this was before the modern size of the county. Young is buried in Indian Diggins, I've seen the grave but it gives little information, second wife didn't even give dates. Word of mouth has there being Indian blood somewhere on mothers side, no proof or names. Anything would be helpful. Nancy if you like vonny0y6! @worldnet.att.net

    1. [CAYUBA] Re: HUTCHINS, RHODES,GALPIN, MEREDITH
    2. Thanks for your reply - Nancy.... I have a couple Curtis Galpins but no dates for either of them. If you would like to email me what information you have on him and his daughter, I would be happy to check my California resources. More than likely your Curtis is related to my John William Galpin since he was from Missouri. Lots of my Galpins came from or lived in Missouri at one time or other. My John Galpin was married Susie Hutchins, daughter of Leslie Thompson Hutchins and Alma Diana Rhodes, sister of Mary Hutchins-Meredith - all lived in Butte & Yuba County, CA. That's where the other names come in. If you'd like I can also send you via email my gedcom file or family group sheets. Have you checked out the California Death Index 1940-1990? or the California Birth Index 190-4-1990? You can check by mother's maiden name, county of death, etc. Very handy tools. If you have Curtis' death date, I can probably get a copy of his obituary. Any information you would like to share would be great. I'd like to help you in anyway I can. Looking forward to hearing from you. Michelle

    1. [CAYUBA] Mountain Meadows Massacre Wagon Train
    2. Harry Hamilton
    3. Hi, everyone, I'm new to the list and am looking forward to being a member. My California ancestors came by wagon train in 1857 from Barry County, Missouri. They were three days behind the train of Missourians who were killed by the Mormans and Indians at the Mountain Meadows Massacre in Utah in September. My family helped cover some of the bodies before moving on. This information comes from the Native Daughters of the Golden West. My question is, "does anyone have an ancestor who was also on that train (my ancestors - not the massacred train) or have information about it? Thanks, Harry [email protected] _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

    2. Do you have anything on 1854 wagon train (to Northern California) lists, or do you know where I might find them? Samuel Lewis, Miller, Williams and perhaps Brown are said to have been all in the same wagon train. I believe several later farmed, mined together and intermarried in Yuba and Butte Counties. Can you help?
