Lota was born 3/5/1909 and passed away 1/9/1999 in Marysville, CA. She is buried in Susanville, CA and haven't found an obit in the Lassen County area. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

They lived in and around Bartlett, NH Her last husband was Heman Powers. She probably married him in California. Alvertie died in Lassen Co., Susanville, California. at Riverside Hospital. Heman Powers was 69 at the time. Alvertie was 67yr. 6 months. Her parents were Caroline Leighton and Stephen Rand. She died April 18, 1945. Her home was in Janesville, Calif. Any info on her marriages (what happened to Albert Griffin of NH) or Heman Powers will be appreciated. Where was she in the years between 1920 and 1945 Thank you, lark75@hotmail.com

Does anyone recognize any names? 1850 Census Nevada City, Yuba, California Page: 299 Roll: M432_36 James Croughton (?), lawyer, 28, Kentucky Susan Croughton (?) , 20, Kentucky T. C. Reveley, 28, physician, Virginia M. Mitchell, 22, miner, Kentucky T.R.Towles, 28, trader, Virginia Archer, 18, cook, Missouri Madison, 16, servant, Virginia Ben, 30, servant, Kentucky Elijah, 21, servant, Virginia C.C. White, 33 Teamster, Ky These 10 individuals were grouped together, and could easily have traveled together from Missouri. The Reveleys were originally from Virginia, and the head of the family was William Reveley who married Ann Towles and owned Pinfield Plantation. When William's son Thomas died, his widow married a Croughton and moved to Missouri. T.C. Reveley is Thomas Croughton Reveley. I'm not sure if the lawyer was named Croughton, but it looked close. Was T.R. Towles, Theriot Towles in Orange County, one of T.C.Reveley's cousins? Archer, Madison, Ben, and Elijah were slaves, probably originally from Pinnfield. Any help would be appreciated!     3. Can somebody tell me why the records of a man who shows up as being a soldier in the index for California Men in the War of the Rebellion, 1861-1867, are not at the National Archives? I have sent for the records of two men listed as being soldiers in the Civil War and both times have been told that there are no records for these men. Is there some other place to find these records? Kathy

She passed away in Marysville on Mar 25 1998 and I believe is buried at the Sierra View Cemetery. I would sure love to get a copy of the obit and a picture of her headstone and burial information if at all possible. I have been able to comfirm that her oldest son James E. died April 20th, 1995, and his last known address was probably Redding (Shasta), California. Also, James was born a Anssens, and was later adopted by a Robert Barton. Roberta's birth date is July 7, 1938, born in Michigan. Maybe this extra info will help. Thanks, Sue
