Someone wrote me this a while back: The best info I received is that there is a "California History" room at the Marysville library that has some old records. Also there is an index for the Sacramento Bee newspaper that may be of help.

If you would like a lookup in the CA Death Index for Francis Banta I can check for you. With an exact date of death maybe someone can find an obituary for you or you can order his death certificate for more information. Colleen Norby -----Original Message----- From: Edward A. Looked in the Sacramento Bee Index in 1879 and there is no marriage listed for either William or Kate under Shadbolt or Stroud. Suggest you take a look at the 1880 census to see if they appear in Yuba county - it should tell you where they were born. If they were lucky enough to have a child come along in the first year of marriage they might appear in the 1880 soundex. I didn't find a birth in 1880 or 1881 in the Bee index. -----Original Message----- From: john shadbolt <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Tuesday, November 09, 1999 11:37 AM Subject: [CAYUBA] re: look up hi list, new subscriber. could someone look up for a william shadbolt, married to kate l. stroud, 5-21-1879 at oregon house, yuba co. ca. trying to locate where he came from. thank you john johns last frontier ==== CAYUBA Mailing List ==== Yuba County, California CAGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~cayuba/

If it wasn't for the expert coding of my great co-host, Jay Bond, the Smartville Cemeteries would not have been added to the Yuba County site, or for a matter of fact, any of the new information that has been added in the last few months! Laura Tyler [email protected]
I am glad that you were able to find what information you needed in the Smartville Cemeteries. Thanks to people like Fred Bunge, I have been able to put the cemetery lists on line. Laura Tyler Yuba County Co-Host [email protected]
Amazing. They are both at the first cemetery I checked in Smartville (along with 2 more Quinkert's)--the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Great! Thank you so much.
