Thank you for all of the wonderful responses concerning the county of location for Buffalo, NY. I have looked at them, along with my copy of "Map Guide to the U.S. Federal Censuses 1790-1920". BTW, this book shows that Erie County use to be part of Niagara County. IMHO, if a ship's manifest listed a family's destination to be Buffalo, it would not be too far a stretch to feel that a member of that family might have married in Niagara County. However, does anyone know of a good URL that would show me the location (in Niagara County) of a town called Wolcottsville? Leslie
