She was born in Frick, Aargau, Switzerland, which is not far from Basel, Switzerland. She married Johann BENZINGER on 12 May 1881 in Baden, Germany and then they came to America where they settled in Louisville, KY. They had three children, Anna BENZINGER, b 8 Jan 1883, Theresa BENZINGER and EDWARD H. BENZINGER. I am trying to find her parents' names and birthplaces, as her death certificate lists "unknown" for this information. If anyone has any clues about this family, I would be most appreciative of any information. Thanks in advance." If you can help her, please respond directly to her address *and* send a copy to this list. Leslie Kohler

    2. We have been looking for family tree info on our ggrandmother Margaret Caylor b. c1840. We know hardly anything about her. we are finding bits and pieces. We know she was married to our ggrandfather George Friedline/Freedline b.1838 d.1914 (he was in the Civil War)s/o Jacab and lydia(bish) friedline/freedline They lived in Pine Creek Twp./Jefferson county PA . We do not know where she was born. but we believe she died in KnoxTwp/Jefferson Co. They had Two sons, Franklin(Wes) Sylvester Freedline b.1867 d.1949[our grandpa] m.Margaret Fyock after her death m.c.1916 Mary Alice Kniseley ,[a father of 14 children ]and Joseph A. Freedline b.1870 d.1942,m. Myrtle Howard[a father of 14 children] George and Margaret divorced and both remarried. She raised Josephand George kept Franklin. Family tradition says Geogre disowned Franklin because he married a common girl. The friedlines had a lumber company and the Bish family had lumber mills . Margaret married Daniel Copenhaver they had three (?)children Jim ,[a father of 11 children] Sam[father of 2 0r 3 children] and Tilly[mother of ?children]. Jim and wife died before children were raised. children were raised by ? . have met some of copenhaver cousins they need same info. The descendants of Margaret's at least 41 grandchildren are looking for her information and their Caylor family. Would deeply appreciate anything you could tell us and would travel any pathways you can think of that will lead us to our Kin. :o) Thanks Shirley :o) P.S. once saw her name listed as Margaret C. Kaylor but not on any official papers . Possibly died c1920' s-1930's . grandchildren born around 1923 have vague memories of her.

    3. Good morning All, The lists have been so quiet for so long that I decided to post to see who is out there who might be able to help. I am the List Mom for many of these K_L_R lists, and I invite everyone to begin posting their lines and/or queries once again. We never know when someone new might be subscribed here. My husband's family's prodigenator was Christian KOEHLER (KÖHLER in Germanic Europe). My sister-in-law found Christian to have been born in a town called Metz. His naturalization papers, dated 4 Oct 1856, say that he was born in Saxony and show him renouncing his loyalty to the Sace of Coburgh at that time. He stated his age as 26 years at that time, so the DOB on his gravemarker that shows his birth year to be 1837 does not match with what should be 1824. (1856 minus the 6yr waiting period, minus his stated age of 26yr) We have studied maps of Germanic Europe for the time period ca his birth, but have been unable to conclude which town of Metz might have been Christian's birth place... if Metz is even the correct town. We will appreciate any pointers, tips and/or information that anyone is willing to supply. And, we have an extensive list of Christian's descendants which we are willing to share with cousins. (BTW, Christian settled in Macon County, MO, after marrying in NY state and fighting in the War Between the States.) Leslie (Bridges) Kohler Aug67@att.net P.O. Box 276, Carrollton, MO 64633-0276 P.O. Elmer's second marriage was to Ida Dell Callar on 7July 1938. I believe their married life was spent in Northome & Island Lake, Minnesota. Ida Dell's father was R.H. Callar. Elmer & Ida Dell had one daughter, Barbara Dell MacDonald. Can anyone help with these names? Pam

The Caylors came from Germany. I have no info past George Sr. who is buried in Townsend Tennesse. I visit the area every year and have met a few relatives. I have heard that they were Black Dutch which I have heard means Bavarian Germany(not Holland Dutch) John Wesley Caylor was my great grandfathers brother. His grandson lives here in Florida where I live now (I was born and raised in Detroit) I have info on the extended families that married Caylors also. I would like to hear from you if you could write me direct at lrd1558(at)cs.com. I would love to see what you have and share what I have on the family history. Debbie Caylor Davis
