Surnames: cavill cavell Classification: Lookup Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/BKI.2ACIB/10.1 Message Board Post: I guess you'll have fund your info by now, but just in case: Thomas Torr was the brother of my gt gt gt grandfather, his parents were Charles Cavill (b 1809 Sheffield) and Ann (Hannah) Gibbons (b 1812 Oughtibridge) Thomas was their eldest son, Matilda was his second wife, he had 2 children with his first wife and I know of 6 children with Matilda. He and Matilda lived in Sheffield and Thomas worked as a Table blade Forger. It's been a bit tricky following him in the census returns... or would be if it wasn't for the Tor - his place of birth changed from Sheffield to Wales for 1881 and his name changed to CAVELL in 1891 - as it did for most of the family. hope this is useful to someone!
