He was 74. A native of Laureville, Ohio, he moved to Melrose 15 years ago from Chillicothe, Ohio. Mr. Cave was a retired U.S. Air Force chief master sergeant and a retired department manager for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He began his service in the Army in 1945 and completed his military service in the Air Force in 1975. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a Protestant. Survivors include his wife, Louise Riley Cave of Melrose; a daughter, Vicki Mann of Richmond, Va.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
