Note: This Unknown Caves, is very interesting. Born October 17th, 1880, being the second child of Merrit Henry Cave and Jennie E. Swisher, in Cooperstown, Brown County, Illinois. (The first document giving Cooperstown as a location of residence, gives Merrit's occupation as a Stone Mason, and lists this child as their second child, while further verifying the date of 1852 as Merrit Cave's birth year). But who is this child? Did the child survive? Also, how could Martie W. Caves have been born in March of 1880 in Pine Bluff Arkansas, (according to the 1900 Census) to these parents who had this unknown child in October of 1880? Or is this family still pulling my leg? I found a Carrie Caves, age 20, but born in Missouri, living in a Boarding House, single, and student in 1900 Census of Adams County, Illinois. But I am nearly certain I looked at a marriage license for her, (or Cenia Caves) having been mistakenly listed as a Carr instead of Caves, in the Brown County Records, that showed her parents as Merit H. Cave and Mary Ann Earles. I tried to find that record today, but was unsuccessful. I came across it by accident on an earlier trip, but was short of funds that day, so I did not get a copy of the certificate. Shucks... maybe I'll find it on the next trip.
