Two fully-automatic Schmeisser submachine guns will be handed over to the Canadian War Museum later this week by Ottawa OPP after three years in storage at OPP headquarters. "A veteran brought them back from the Second World War and had hidden them away," OPP Sr. Const. Eric Booth said yesterday about the powerful MP-40 machine pistols the late Hayden CAVE brought home more than 50 years ago. Cave died in 1967 and the weapons were passed on to another family member who put them away for safekeeping. Other family members then turned the guns in to OPP in 1997 during a gun amnesty program after they were found in a Fitzroy Harbour cottage. =================================== www.magma.ca/~jcobban/FamilyTree/F@F1387@.html NOTES ON SARAH CAVE: Sarah Cave was born at Adelaide, Middlesex, ON, CA in February 1862.
