Orange County (IN) Obituaries CAVE, WILLARD Springs Valley Herald (July 7, 1927) Death Notice Funeral services for Willard Cave, who died at 7:00 o'clock Wednesday morning, July 1st, were held at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Crystal. The Rev. Frank Nicholson, a life long friend of Mr. Cave had charge of the service and was assisted by Rev. C. O. Morin, of this place. Mr. Cave was 70 years old. He was born near Crystal and spent most of his life in that neighborhood, moving to French Lick about six years ago. He had been in failing health for several months. Mr. Cave is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Sol Simmons, one son, William Painter, two brothers, Lee Cave of Bedford, Will Cave of Kansas City, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. Molly Meyers of Evansville, Indiana. -------------- ASHABEL WILLARD CAVE Springs Valley Herald (July 7, 1927) ASHABEL WILARD CAVE Obituary Ashabel Willard Cave, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Cave, was born near Crystal, Dubois County, Indiana march 4, 1857 and departed this earthly life July 1, 1927. He was married to Miss Louisa R. Cox, December 21, 1879. One child blessed this union, Miss Emma Cave, now Mrs. Sol Simmons. Mr. Cave leaves two brothers, Lee of Bedford, Indiana, Will of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Molly Meyers of Evansville. Mr. and Mrs. Cave united with the Baptist church in Crystal and later Mr. Cave transferred to the Methodist Church where they spent an active and useful christian life, in the service of humanity and God. As the great heart of the master was touched by human need, so likewise, the tender and sympathetic heart of Mr. Cave was responsive toward the needy, having taken into his home and care William Painter, a thirteen month old baby, who sits today in the shadows beside the bier of a modern samaritan. Testimony to a Friend: "You have done all for me that can be done, I am ready to go, I am just waiting for the Lord to take me home. There is nothing between me and Heaven, Don't keep me waiting, I have nothing against any one, nothing to dread. I don't want you to grieve after me. I think you ought to be shouting." In the passing of Mr. Cave, the community looses one of its oldest and best citizens, Mrs. Simmons, a kind and loving father, Mrs. Cave a faithful companion, a host of neighbors and friends join in heartfelt sympathy. ==================================== www.gosanangelo.com/archive/01/november/24/daily.shtml OMA LOUTENA “TENA” CAVE Oma Loutena “Tena” Cave, 91, of San Angelo died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, in a local nursing home. Graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, in Belvedere Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Heimbecker officiating. Miss Cave was born Aug. 8, 1910, in Eden to William Walter and Elizabeth Roberts Cave. Tena was raised in the Arden Community. She moved to San Angelo where she worked for McClellands and later for Woolworths for many years where she retired. Tena was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Beatrice Rice and Bernice Horeis; three brothers, Clifford Cave, Wallace “Bud” Cave and Elwood Cave. Survivors include five nieces, Donna Ballard and Sherry Skelton, both of San Angelo, Frances Waters of Pittsburgh, Texas, Cydney Martinez of San Antonio and Laura Cave of San Angelo; a nephew, Philip Cave of San Antonio; a sister-in-law, Fran Cave of San Antonio; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Vistacare Family Hospice and the Regency house for their loving care of Tena during her last days.
