    2. I know it's a shot in the dark, but can anyone buy this cd and then make copies for Cave list members (of course charging for them). I know the Townsend Society is scanning books then selling cd's to list members at $10 per cd.

    3. Is this Captain Benjamin Cave (1680-1762) and Hannah Bledsoe (d. 1770)? At last, I think we've plugged into my family line. If someone can confirm this, I'm off to E-bay. 3. http://www.icsherington.dsl.pipex.com/f5manor.htm History of The Manor (with photo) The history of the Manor and its moat goes back over 900 years. Sherington is recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086, under the name 'Serintone'. In the mid-1200's the moated Manor House was purchased by John de CAVE, a Yorkshireman. It was then passed down through several generations of the de CAVE family, before being transferred to other owners. The Fete at the Manor What would the Bishop of Coutances, William De Carun and John de Cave and their colleagues from 900 years ago think of the Fete, if they were here today? They are likely to be very surprised to see the moat being used for canoeing, and they would probably think we are a bit mad to be doing the 'Uphill Tractor Pull'. However, they would probably excel at the archery. They would definitely enjoy the excellent food and drink. One thing is certain: like you, they would have a good time! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.a2a.org.uk/search/index.asp Grantchester, Cambridgeshire - Manorial accounts Date: 29 Sep 1433 View of account of Thomas CAVE, farm bailiff, of escheats from various courts in Grantchester Burwash, for one year.
