Have you managed to overcome your 'brick wall', and find what you were looking for. I have traced back the tree's of the women who married the Cave men(inc.CB and CBC) and they have proved really facinating reading. Would you like to share some of our researches? I have found Debrett's Peerage (I've got the 1915 edition)really helpful - and there's some wonderful websites on the individuals we're looking-up, is'nt there? Hi Heather I have Abraham born about 1793, Whitelackington, his wife Sarah born about 1800, Somerset. Children: Samuel, Lydia, Ann, Elizabeth, Lavinia, Abraham, John, Albert, (Alfred), Thomas, Frederick. I think Albert, and Frederick were Lydia's illegitimate children, as was Thomas was my Great Great Grandfather, according to his birth certificate his mother was Lydia, no father's name recorded. I know Sarah couldn't be their mother because she died Dec 1859, she is buried in St Mary Magdalene, Stocklinch Magdalene. Abraham died 1873, he is buried in Ilminster. Thomas married Hannah Hughes in Bristol, (my home City). Could we have a connection? I am trying to establish the father of John Cave, b. April 15, 1859 in Bardwell, KY. By the 1860 census, his mother, Amanda Violett had married Roy Boyd. Presumably, she had been widowed sometime between the time of John's conception (July 1858) and 1860 when the census was taken. I have found both given as possibilities in IGI records. The record on IGI has Boone County KY as the birthplace of son James Cave, b. 1857. I have included a small section of what I have on John Daughty Cave. 1 "Jim" Cave or "John D. Cave" d: Bef. 1860 . +Amanda Violett b: March 28, 1835 in Kentucky d: November 05, 1919 in Bardwell, Kentucky Burial: November 06, 1919 Bardwell Cemetery, Bardwell, KY ....... 2 James Cave b: 1857 ....... 2 John Daughty Dowden Cave b: April 15, 1859 in Bardwell, Kentucky d: September 15, 1933 in East Prairie, Mississippi County, MO Burial: September 16, 1933 Dogwood Cemetery, Long Prairie, MO ........... +Nancy E. Cummins b: 1856 in Milburn, Ballard County, Kentucky d: Bef. January 16, 1896 ....... *2nd Wife of John Daughty Dowden Cave: ........... +Nancy Minnie Killion b: March 02, 1872 in Marquand, Madison County, Missouri d: November 25, 1923 in St. James Township, Mississippi Co., MO Burial: November 26, 1923 Pinhook Cemetery ("Grave Yard" on death certificate)

Hi everyone! Greetings and best wishes to all of you! This would be a great time to continue to log in and post the CAVE family location you are working on. Post any new material or where you are stuck in the research. We have 69 members on the active email list as of today. (This includes the digest list also) Its a busy time for most of us around the world as the seasons change and but look for more active message boards as winter settles in the northern hemisphere and we are more home bound. There has been some talk from the folks in England who have the CAVE Family History Society to take over the message boards and lists in the future. I have not heard from them in several months but they are hoping we can get more activity on the message boards and lists. They may set up a board and list of their own but I see no reason for that since we have these in place already. Remember any messages that are posted on the Ancestry/ Rootsweb message boards are forwarded to the email list pending approval of Rootsweb. If there are questionable messages spam, etc. those are forwarded to me to approve or ban. I get several of these a week, some times more. So even when I am very quiet, I am "working behind the scenes" to help keep the message boards and lists free of spam the computer kicks back to me. My Best Wishes to each and everyone of you. Sharing is the key to gaining research results. I wish I had some new material to share but havent made much progress of late on this branch of my family. Mine line is Page and Madison County VA to Champaign county OH to Whitley county IN to Wilson County KS and beyond. We have many cousins out there and its been great fun finding more cousins in our ever growing family tree. We have not been able to get out of Virginia and find the English connection. We still hope some where in some dusty courthouse in Virginia or someones attic, there is a paper giving us that information. List Manager Sue Ellen Cave Ash (Kansas USA)

Good morning to one and all I haven't received any emails from the Cave mailing list. Now, I know I'm registered because a kind person sent me an email confirming that I am on the list!
