My step grandmother Louise is dau. of William Cave (bn Cork 1846), the son of Stephen Cave & Letitia of St Ann's Shandon Cork city. William had at least 4 brothers (have 4 baptisms) one was Vera's " Henry." I have a "tree" (a copy from my cousin), This tree was received from another direct Cave desc. Rev. Guy Newal Cave who may be dec. now, as he was quite elderly then. I would like to make contact with Vera if this is possible. Barbara Roberts Australia

Monaghan. He was said to have had a brother, I believe, named Henry. Don't know if there is any connection. I have been in contact with a Vera Cave, Co. Donegal, and she sent me information on a number of Church of Ireland clergy named Cave. One of her great grandfathers was Henry Cave (1852-1935), and he had a son named Henry Carr Cave. She also said Henry Carr Cave had a son, Frank, who lived in England. Don't know if any of this is helpful. Jack Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Thanks Jane for your continued postings to the list. The obit of Joseph Cave who was gored by the bull clears up some of the connections of obits I found in OH for two of the daughters of a Joseph who were not in my lineage. I like having his parents listed, and siblings. I think we can now put him in a family and perhaps move past this generation. Wouldnt it be wonderful if every obit contained all this information on the deceased person. Beast Wishes! Sue Ellen Cave Ash

Arrangements are pending under the direction of M. P. Murphy & Associates Funeral Directors. ------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ohclark/obituary/query046.htm 1949: Farmer, 80, Gored To Death On Way To Chores Clark County, Ohio An 80 year-old farmer, Joseph CAVE of South Vienna, Route 1, was gored to death by a bull Tuesday as he was on his way to evening chores. His farm is one the Houston rd. near the Old Columbus rd. Miss Anna CAVE, a daughter who lived with him, said she heard Mr. CAVE yell for help from the barnyard. She went to the door of the house, and her cries scared the bull away. Her screams then attracted neighbors living a short distance away, and they carried Mr. CAVE out of the barnyard. They thought he was still living, and a call was put in for Lukens ambulance in London, O. When the ambulance arrived, however, Mr. CAVE had died. The goring occurred about 5:15 p.m. Mr. CAVE suffered a crushed chest, and several cuts on the body from the bull's horns. Although there were no eyewitnesses, apparently Mr. CAVE was thrown up into the air by the bull. One cut was between the legs. The barnyard is about 75 feet away from the house. Mrs. CAVE was born in Pike County, Apr 5, 1869, the son of James and Johanna HAUBOLDT CAVE. His wife, Elizabeth POTTS CAVE, died April 12, 1935. Besides the daughter at home, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Blanche YEAZELL, South Vienna, Route 1: one son, Boisle CAVE, also of Route 1; one grandson, William CAVE, Springfield; one sister, Mrs. Anna HAYES, Mechanicsburg, and two great-grandchildren. The body was taken to Littleton funeral home and will be removed to the residence Thursday morning, remaining there until Friday morning before being returned to the funeral home for services at 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. W. S. Alexander, pastor of the South Vienna Congregational Christian Church, officiating. 3. My ancestor was Brigitte Cave, who married Edmund De La Hant 08 Feb 1757 at St Martins in the Fields, Westminster (according to the IGI) and which roughly fits in with family history. They had three children Margarita 19/5/1766 William 29/4/1768 and James 4/11/1771 Birth address given for all three was Lincolns Inn Fields, London. We have no information at all about Edmund and Brigitte, though family legend is that Edmund was French and a Maquis (of course!!!) Does anyone know of a Cave family in London around that time?
