Rick, That's great vis a vis the space. Now the question is how should we set it up? I have seen other families that have a chronology, i.e., they set out the data by the date. This can help untangle relationships, etc., by common sense. However there may also be a way to cross index by name or by place. These could also be helpful. Perhaps as a start a simple chronological listing of pre revolutionary southern (mostly Virginian) Cave primary references? We should decide on a simple common format, and perhaps someone or ones to enter the data on the page. I'm sure much of this has been done but it would be great to centralize it and I bet there are pieces yet to be found that will tie us all together, maybe even to one immigrant family. Michael Walker
http://www.lpitr.state.sc.us/bil99-00/672.htm South Carolina 1999-2000 Bill 672: The Honorable WILBUR LUCIUS CAVE Commendation (and short bio) ================================= www.canadyfamily.com/History/Children_links/Florence_Canady_Cave.htm WALTER CAVE had come to Savannah from Barnwell, South Carolina, and worked at a factory. He boarded at the house owned by Florence and respected her work ethic, ingenuity and integrity. He later became out of work when the factory closed but not wanting to move he asked Florence if he could work there for his room and board. She put him to work cleaning, laundering and helping to maintain the boarding house. He found out then what a hard worker she really was. The relationship developed into more than just mutual respect between co-workers and they became husband and wife in 1899. They eventually purchased another boarding house at West Broad Street and Congress Lane and were very successful in that business. Walter later worked for many years in the "hacking" business. He drove a horse-drawn surrey which taxied customers from the Union Station on West Broad Street. He and Florence purchased a new and larger house at 646 West 35th Street. Walter Cave died of a heart attack in his backyard on November 12, 1929. He was of entertaining his grandson, Herman, Jr., and feeding the chickens when he suddenly slumped over. Florence lived another three and a half years before her death on March 22, 1933 at the age of 67. She is buried with her husband and two sons in Hillcrest Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia. A few of you have mentioned the Cave mansion in Montebello. Does anyone have pictures of the house or garden. I'm making a "Cave Locations" page at: http://www.cavescove.com/loc/loc.htm and would love to add a picture to its information. Also, if anyone can give me suggestions to add to the "Locations" page, that would be helpful. I've added the Candle Light Woodshop amd The Brumback House, which were mentioned recently on Rootsweb. Thanks, Rick Anderson CavesCove

THANKS Rick! I am happy you have replied, and let us know you have room for more information to be placed at your web site. I think this is the ideal spot plus the rootsweb boards to post the CAVE information. Does that sound agreeable to all of you? Rick has already done major work on the CAVE line. If you haven't checked his CAVE web site be sure to do so and check back often. If you have something to post get in touch with Rick and he will give you directions of getting the information to him to add to the web site. For those of you who don't have the URL for Rick Anderson's web site. http://www.cavescove.com/ THANKS! Sue Ellen Cave Ash

I currently have plenty of room for records anyone would like to send to cavescove.com I have an archives section that has listings for court records, cemetery records, deeds, marriages, wills, family bibles. If anyone has entire county listing of marriages, wills, etc., that's always helpful. I've recently added Ellis Island Passenger records, as well as marriage records recently listed on this mail listing.
