Rutha Cosby Deschene, 70, of Alvaton, KY, formerly of Hartford, wife of the late Richard Deschene, died Wednesday (Jan. 22, 1997) at the Medical Center, Bowling Green, KY. She was born Dec. 23, 1926, Monroe County, KY, the daughter of the late Sam Cosby and Vickie Bohannon Cosby. Rutha was employed as a product packer for Better Brands, Hartford, a member of the Baptist Church, Hartford. Survivors include, two daughters, Pennie Hanken of Huntington, MD and Judy Hummel of Hebron; a son, Gary D. Deschene of West Haven; a sister, Trevell Hix of Bowling Green, KY; six grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew, several great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Friday, Jan. 24, 2:30 p.m., J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapel, Bowling Green, KY. Visitation will be today, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
