I found the following article in a book called "Tennessee Tidbits-1778-1914, Vol III" R929.3768 F524 t 1986 V.3. It proves that you need to check all kinds of spellings. I had never thought about Cogby until now. the only reason I found it was that the name Cozby is also in the article. " COGBY, JOHN Died before 14 September 1847 as shown in the suit of John D.
