In case you have noticed my absence, I thought I should explain what I am dealing with. There was a major fire in Winston-Salem which destroyed 3 historical buildings (former RJ Reynolds Tobacco factories). It was truly a sad day for our city Thursday when this occurred. My internet provider was located in the building adjacent, and there was major smoke and water damage to that building. I have been unable to log on since the fire started Thursday morning, so I have had no access to my e-mail and thus the mailing lists. They just came back up tonight, and I am busy wading through 138 e-mails - many of which are digest forms of mailing lists! To further complicate things, I had a major hard drive crash last night in which I lost the past month's data. If anyone has written to me lately, I apologize for the lack of response. I feel sure we have new members to our lists. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and to ask that you introduce yourselves and send a note to the list regarding the research you are doing on your family line. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon for me!
