Seeking information on the parents of HICKERSON COSBY, born c 1750 in Louisa Co., VA. Served in Rev War. m. ANN (NANCY) HARRIS, dtr of ARCHELAUS HARRIS. One son, GARLAND COSBY, died while serving in War of 1812. Family moved to Wilkes Co., GA in late 1700's. Have not been able to find Hickerson's parents. An oral tradition says that he was the son of GRIFFITH DICKINSON and ANN COSBY and was raised by his uncle, JOHN COSBY, and thereafter used his middle name for his surname.
