The 1850 census lists Ann Cosby as head of household but her husband is also listed in the census as Josiah Cosby. Possibly, Ann's maiden name was Crunk because of census record of 1860 of S.M. Causbie's household in Belfast, Marshall County, Tennessee where Nancy Crunk is listed as living with him and his family. Her age indicates a relationship with one of the two parents. I'm going to say it was S.M.'s grandmother on his mother's side. I am in touch with numerous members of both brothers' families and would love to share with you. Glad to get a bite on the list! Another settlement was entered February 1852 showning amounts paid and to whom (ibid 93-5) Note: I once saw the Sheldon mentioned in Cedar Co, Missouri on either the 1850 or 1860 census. The branch of the family remaining loyal to the King would keep their surname spelling as it was, whereas the branch that were Tories would change theirs. Wanda
