She was born July 17, 1951 in Erie, Pa.Carol worked at Goldstone in both logistics and transportation for 23 years. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and was a cherished mother and grandmother. She graduated from Barstow High School in 1969.Carol fought her cancer with courage and dignity. She was a true hero to all that knew her and touched many people's lives with her selflessness, generosity and compassion. Her spirit will live on in us forever and she will be dearly missed.She was preceded in death by her brother, Frankie LaPaglia. Survivors include her dad, William Gust of Barstow; mother, Kathryn Gust of Barstow; sisters, Linda Clements and her husband, James, of Barstow, Kathy Batanian and her husband, Leon, of Sandy, Utah, and Kimberly Good and her husband, Matthew, of Barstow; brother, William Gust III and his wife Cindy of Barstow; son, Brian Caudill a! nd his wife Mandy of Barstow; daughter, Tami Lash and her husband Bruce of Barstow; six grandchildren, Matthew, Layne, Ryan, Nicolas, Adam, and Gabbi; five nieces, one nephew, five great-nieces, and five great-nephews.Memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. at Mead Mortuary, 36930 Irwin Road. The family will host a gathering at 1 p.m. in the banquet room at the Quality Inn.
