He was apparently married to a Sarah Hines Waggoner, so I think these are the Josiah/Sarah entries that appear on census records. I found the following 1870 census entry for Patsy Holloway, who I am pretty sure is Polly's mother. 1870 census, Laurel Springs, Alleghany, NC Family #64, page 8, census date 5 Jul 1870, all born in NC Holaway, Patsy, age 39, F Isaac, age 19, M Mandy, age 17, F Perlina, age 14, F Martin J., age 11, M Kesiah, age 8, F Father John Holloway appears in the 1860 census, but has disappeared prior to 1870. I suspect he may have been a victim of the Civil War. Also, Stephanie, I think the Aris Caudill family must have moved to KY between 1880 and 1884. Drucilla was born in KY in April of 1884, according to the 1900 and 1910 census records. Have any of you found John Aris Caudill in the 1900 census? Here's another interesting item. Patsy Holloway's maiden name is Martha Louisa "Patsy" Waggoner. Her parents are Jacob Waggoner, son of Adam and Nancy (Holloway) Waggoner, and Annie Roberts. This makes her 1st cousin to Matilda Waggoner, so John Aris and Polly were 2nd cousins. Polly's full name is apparently Mary Perlina Holloway. Cherie
