On Sept. 30, 1891 in Wise Co. VA, the case of Commonwealth v. B. J. Caudill was called in court, Caudill having been previously indicted on some felony. A warrant had been issued for the arrest of “Benjamin Caudle” and a requisition sent to Kentucky in June 1891. The case was still being continued on October 26 and November 30, 1892. Finally on February 28, 1893, the case was retired from the docket “until further court orders,” possibly indicating he had never been found. It is possible that the middle initial J. could be a mistranscription. If this man is the same as another Caudill I am looking for, he might be between the ages of 6 and 20 in 1877, and maybe have connections to the Eolia, Kentucky area and/or the Brown family. Another possibility is that this unknown Caudill at some time lived in another area of the country. I am not positive that this man is the same as the Benjamin Caudill above, though. Two possibilites I have located are Benjamin F. Caudill (b. ~ 1871), son of Samuela and Letisha Caudill, m. Mary Jane Mullins; and Benjamin L. Caudill (b. ~ 1876), s/o John Dixon and Nancy Caudill, m. Rachel Ison. If anyone could eliminate either of these men too, it would be appreciated. Any information would be very helpful!
