I've looked through many Wilkes Co. records but can't find anything on his parents. I'm hoping those of you who are familiar with the Wilkes Co. branches can find my twig somewhere. Thanks.

    3. Lenny, It is my understanding, (no proof) that the old Thomas B. Caudill homeplace (I sent you pictures) was given/sold to Thomas & Martha Joines, Caudill by her father Ezekiel Joines who was a son of Thomas Joines, Sr. The property, two hundred + acres is off Hoot Owl Lane, off the Rd ftom Traphill to Abshers. Nanalee > I've been researching old land deeds in Wilkes County. I consistently run into Thomas Joines neighbor to David Caudill, Stephen Caudill, Abner Caudill, William Johnson, and Jesse Alexander. The property is clearly stated as being on the Middle Fork of Roaring River and near the the Old Mill Path. I'm hoping one of you guys can tell me with some precision and certainty where this property was. I might be able to click the pieces together if only I can get one known fixed point to start with. The deed I'm working with now is from Benjamin Adams to Abner Caudill in 1821. I'm willing to guess that the Thomas Joines mentioned is Thomas Joines Sr. b. abt. 1750 as opposed to Thomas Joines, Jr. b. Jan. 15, 1802. Benjamin Adams was already in Kentucky at the time as it states so in the deed. The deed is witnessed by Spencer Adams and David Caudill. Knowing that the Caudill's and Joines lived in the Greenstreet Mountain, Absher Road area, up by the Caudill Joines Cemetery, I'm willing! > to further speculate that this land is nearby.
