Not sure if you'll consider this help or not? We have about fourteen participants in the Caudill DNA Project. We have samples from descendants of Stephen A Caudill, bro. of Thomas Aaron. If you'd like more info. on the project, let me know. If a male from Thomas line matches the Stephen A. line, we can state that they have a common ancestor. If it doesn't match, you can calculate the probability that there's a common ancestor based on number of mismatches and which marker. It's somewhat complicated. I'll explain if you're intrigued. I've been hitting a brick wall with her. Her name is Hazel Caudill Smith, her husband my grandpa is Donald Smith they had three children. Aunt Bernice,uncle Donald and my daddy Charles or Charlie smith. I was told she died the day daddy was born. He was born in Hazard Ky. His birth certificate says her maiden name is Caudill. My grandpa Donald was a coal miner. When he remarried it was to another woman named Hazel. I think my grandpa died in 1970. He died from black lung.
