Surnames: WALLACE Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HY.2ADE/1596.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Elvina, Thank you for the quick response. Your info on Louisa Wallace’s obituary fits very nicely with what I have been able to find. She is listed in the 1880 census but not in the 1900 census. I also found out about the Illinois Marriage Index through a posting by Catherine Brown. That’s how I assumed that David K Wallace had lived in Illinois during the 1860s. Thanks also for the info on where to purchase copy of obituary. I’m VERY new to this genealogy research and just learning the ropes. I did find out about Tulare County’s automated databases, but I’m just now learning how to access and use the information found. I did order a copy of the probate for David K Wallace. I hope it will confirm my guesses on his children and provide some information I can use to track him in Illinois or Virginia. It’s too bad other counties in CA haven’t digitized their vital statistics like Tulare County. But I guess it’s a matter of money and volunteers to do the hard work. George S Wallace is David k’s son. He also had two other sons, Clarence and David Earl. David Earl is my wife’s grandfather. David K also had five (5) daughters (I think); Clara Alice, Sarah C, Jessie I, Eva Louise, and Minnie Della. I’m hoping that the probate will verify my guesses. Thanks also for the tip on using information found in cemetery records. It should be very useful in validating other information I’ve been able to locate. If you can think of any other useful tips please let me know. I can use all the help I can find. Again, Thanks
