    1. Testamonial--Cardle/Simpson--Keep up the good work!
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Cardle, Simpson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HY.2ADE/1746 Message Board Post: I just wanted you to know that I posted on here in 2002 looking for my husband's birth mother Myrtle Cardle. Those who tried to help couldn't find a Cardle in Tulare in 1945. Come to find out she lived with her mother and stepfather and their names were Simpson. Hugh & Emily Simpson lived in rural Tulare county. They had several children, JoAnn, Bobby Ray and a Fannie Faye. Myrtle Cardle had my husband and adopted him out in 1945. I found that a Kenneth Cardle, mother maiden named Cardle, was born in Tulare in 1947. I looked for that name and found him living in Corpus Christi, TX. We live in Houston. I was able to find another brother that was missing born in Bakersfield and living in Dallas and a half sister Norma Bennett who also lived with the family in Tulare now living in Ventura. We all had a reunion in Las Vegas the end of last year and we've visited with the ones in TX again. Kenneth knew he probably had missing siblings because his birth certificate said! she had had 3 live births prior to him and he only knew of one other. There still may be one missing. But, I want you to know that I'm thankful for the help I got from this site and someone who did a look up for me at the county seat. If you ever come across anything related to a Simpson family from 1945-47, I'd love to know about it. Whether school or otherwise. The children were majority Choctaw & Irish--fair complected. They worked farm labor some but the stepfather was a carpenter, too. Sometimes it may seem like a lot of labor with limited benefit. But, you supply a piece of a puzzle for some of us and it can work out to be something great in the end. Keep up the good work!

The above Census entry, dated 1930, refers to my grandfather, my grandmother, my mother, Bertha Louise Pedrotti (then age 10); my Uncle Stephen Pedrotti (who worked in a bank in Berkeley and later at a bank in Sacramento); my Aunt Harriett; and my Uncle Peter Pedrotti, who was born 30 April 1916, enlisted in the US Army 11 May 1935, worked his way up through enlisted ranks and officer ranks to LtCol, retired as LtCol 30 April 1958, went to Stanford University 1958-1962, earned a Teacher's Certificate 1964, taught in the senior high schools in San Francisco for 18 years, served as the Founding Curator of Collingwood Library and Museum on Americanism, VA, for 14 years, passed away 22 January 2006. I'm also hoping to discover whether he was related to Alexander and Rebecca GLENN, perhaps based on the proximity of his grave to theirs. They are apparently buried with the CHATTEN family. Thanks, Matt

    1. Arkansas to Tulare Co before the Civil War - HUDSON, DUNN, and KELLEY
    2. I've just discovered I had some relatives that came from Arkansas into Tulare County before the civil war. They were at least 3 inter- related families that came from Jasper, Newton Co., Arkansas and began showing up in the Tulare Co 1860 census, mostly in Visalia. They were the HUDSONs, DUNNs, and KELLEYs. I am just now organizing them and will send more later. I see I'm not the only Elaine in this group. My main Visalia line is the BENTLEYs. from the Bentley Elaine
