Hand written notes from my g Aunt says " These 2 boys lived in Red Bluff CA and what little education they received was done there. Friends and neighbors took care of them while the father was on a freight trip. James and Fred were ophans at an early age. James worked so Fred could go to school. Both mothers died of cancer and their father was killed in Casel CA by a renegade indian.
