    2. I finally found my ggrandfather, Edward Walter Lavier- b. abt 1850's. I found out that he was killed in a mining accident in either Red Bluff or Redding and was burried in one of the two cities. I am so happy to get this close to finding him. I was wondering if there is a death index that I might check for his name. I believe him to have died between the year 1900 and 1910. We would like to know where he is buried so we might be able to visit the cemetary to locate him. When he signed his name on his marriage certificate, it appears to be spelled like Levine. Any help will be appreciated! Here is a short little story about Edward. His wife of four years died of Malaria in Oregon in 1900, leaving Edward with two small children. He left the children in care of his wife's parents and went out of town to find work. He was never heard of again. Well! I just found that he had left info of "next of kin" with brothers in Michigan. They did not notify family in Oregon and his children and in-laws did not know of any other family addresses! My Dad is 85 years old and with tears in his eyes, said, "Oh, if only Dad was alive to know what happened to him!" We would love to find Edward and any info there might be. Thank you!
