Dear Donna, In an article on the Adam Eckard family in the Catawba County Heritage Book, the author tells about an old cemetery, since destroyed which had graves for a Hans Adam Eckert (single date of 1775), Magdalen Eckert (single date of 1799), and Daniel Eckert (single date of 1803). There has been speculation that Hans Adam and Magdalen were the parents of Adam Eckard and Barbara Eckard Treffenstatt. I descend from Christian and Barbara Eckard Treffenstatt through their daughter who married Godfrey Bolick.
