Perhaps it is time to try again on these families. I did have a nice note from Ann Propst about the family with a variance in the spelling. And I appreciate all the input I can get. She found them in the St. Peters Lutheran Ch. Records as published in Catawba Cousins. I have David Franklin Deal, always known as "Frank" b 5 Aug 1820 or 5 Aug 1819 - both dates are given in records, of then Lincoln, now Catawba Co., NC, buried 28 Mar 1898 at St. John's Cemetery, Conover. Parents are a mystery. Married 9 Mar 1851 in Catawba Co., to Delilah Longcrier daughter of Jacob and Catherine Bolick Longcrier. Early in the history of this area there was a Delesnyder family, (spell it how you will). One of the daughters was Catherine Dealesnyder b abt 1797 who m by bond dated 10 Apr 1814 in Lincoln Co., NC to Daniel Sipe, and moved away. The Sipe family info is well done and documented and available but it does not give Catherine's siblings, nor much of anything about her. I have her father as Andrew Dealesnyder but that is speculation, using the US Census as a guide. Anyone who has any information to add to this scenario is invited to jump in. Comments, discussion, agreement, disagreement, advice all valuable and welcome. I have been clawing at this brick wall for about 30 years and get nowhere. Agnes Cloninger.
Agnes, et. al-- The only thing I can add to David Franklin Deal b. 5 Aug 1819 is that he had a brother, Lawson, b. 1816 m. Jane Austin (and wouldn't you know it, I didn't document that piece of data--or it was lost in my hard drive crash of a year ago--Ugghh!). Then there was a Lawson A. Deal b. 13 Jul 1816, s/o of Solomon and Sarah Yount Deal, that m. Susan Fulbright. I've never combined these two Lawson Deals as I was not sure if they were same person and that David Franklin Deal was a s/o Solomon Deal.
