    3. I have been interested in this discussion, but I need to call your attention to an error. We all make them, but we need to be always vigilent. The Peter Moll/Mull, who signed the papers in Rowan County, was Peter Mull, Sr., the JP who moved to Burke County and became High Sheriff, the highest positions in the county, a county that contained very few German speaking citizens. Peter Mull, Sr. was born c1735 and died before 28 October 1805, when Letters of Administration for his estate were ordered in Burke County, NC. He could not have been born in 1744, for his oldest son, John Mull was born in 1760. Peter Mull, Jr. was not born until 1773. High Sheriff Peter Mull, or Peter Mull, Sr. was the official who signed all the papers, witnessed wills, and performed marriages as a JP. This Peter Mull was one of the great leaders of our county, and has not received sufficient notice for his life. Remember, he was our official on the Rowan County of Safety in the Revolution. I do not understand the dates given for Peter Mull, Sr. as 1744-1831. 3. Sorry, Anne--this was a huge oopsie on my part as the eyes rolled down to the wrong Mull as I was going back and forth between drafting my e-mail and my database. I thank you for calling this to my attention as I did want to cite Peter "High Sheriff" Mull. What I did cite, in error, where the years for John (Johannes) Mull. And, I'm still looking for Francis Palmer!
