I have recieved numerous request from listers to post some of the wonderful responses I have received in regards to repairing and restoring grave stones. Please be patient.. I will get these posted to the list on Thursday. I hope this sort of thing spreads like wildfire! But I must caution you.. Please check into your local and state laws regarding Cemetery Restoration. Unfortunetly there are laws that prohibit us from restoring what time and vandilism has taken from us! If you disagree with the laws..please, start now writing your State Representive and Congress to have these changed. Get fellow family members, friends, neighbors, Genealogy Socities, Historical Socieities, and anybody else you can think of to bombard your govenment officals with letters. I am on that bandwagon now. If we do not start now, then the thought of what will happen in the future is not a pretty sight. Fortunetly the cemetery that I am concerned with at the moment does not fall into any kind of assistance from the local or state government or through any affiliation with a Church. PLEASE .. DO NOT LET THE CEMETERY RESTORATION LAWS STOP YOU FROM GOING FORWARD. WE MUST STAND TOGETHER TO BRING ON NEW CHANGES IN THE LAWS TO PRESERVE OUR HERITAGE.
