Jean, Is it possible that Sidney Yount married Martha Little in 1869 and she died before the 1870 census? Also, it may be interesting to see if anyone can find out who this Violet Yount is (witness to the Sidney Yount-Martha Little marriage). Maybe that would be a clue as to whether there are 2 Sidneys. It is interesting to note that a Little is witness to the Sidney Yount-Laura Bolich marriage. Lastly, did the information about the first marriage come from a marriage register? If so, it may be worthwhile seeing if an actual marriage license was obtained (many were by 1869); if so, it would probably list the parents. (I have some from my ancestors around that time and they do.) (May bo on microfilm at the Archives or Catawba Co. Register of Deeds.)
