    3. Hi...does anyone know anything about this town and how it got it's name ? I wonder if my Lawson Keever went there...anybody know ?...malinda jones Fire wiped out a Catawba County town called Keeversville. In 1886, it had a population of 700 people, many of whom made a living making moonshine. Prohibition put the moonshiners out of business. When the town burned during the Prohibition era, no one rebuilt it. > http://www.charlotte.com/observer/local/catawba/century.htm > >

    3. Malinda, The North Carolina Gazetteer by William S. Powell says for Keeversville "see Plateau". For Plateau, it says "town in sw Catawba County. Inc. 1885 as Keeversville. Name changed, 1893. Long inactive in municipal affairs."
