Jean. Saw some of your questions about Sidney Yount. I don't know how long he was Sheriff, but Jonas Cline was Sheriff for quite a few years. Jonas was Sheriff, 1848 - 1860 Coroner Apr 1862, resigned, appt Sheriff Sheriff, Jan 1866 - Dec 1878 This was printed in "A History of Catawba County." C. F. Conner's name is on a lot of transactions in Catawba CO. I believe he owned a General Store in the Claremont vicinity. He, Evan Gant, and Larkin Miller were School Committeemen of School District #29. They purchased one(1) acre of land from Jones Hefner and wife to build a school house. They paid $80.00 for the land.
