The documents date in range of 1800 to 1918! 1800..land survey with hand drawn map. Signatures or marks of Wm. Swafford and Henry Hoyle. Beginning.. By Virtue of a warrant 1769 the 16th of Jan 1800. Survey for Martin Hoyle, eithy acres of land in Rutherford County lying on the Knob Creek. (anybody have any idea as to what "by virtue of warrant" means) This cocument will copy to one letter size sheet. 1848.. This document is in regards to the same land. It appears as if Henry Hoyle, son of Marting Hoyle is selling the land to Wm. Swofford. Signatures and or marks: Martin Hoyle, Henry Hoyle, David Hoyle, J.H. Wortman, M. Wortman, Michael Worman, Hannah Wortman, J.W. Swofford, Sarah Swofford, Nancy Swofford, Elizabeth Swofford, Katharine Newton, J. H. Swofford, ? Miller, James P. Swofford. Witness (signature and or mark) Jesse Cook & Peter Buff This document is on a large piece of paper and will require profession copying in order to copy it in its entirety. Cost at this time is unknown, but I will be finding out sometime this week. 1801.. Martin Hoyle. I am not sure what this document pertains to as of yet. It is in about 6 pieces and I have not gotten a chance to piece it back together. It does however pertain to land in Rutherford Co. 1886..Seventy Eight Dollars, lawful money of the United States of America, recievd by the agent of the heirs ans assigns of the said Isaac Bronson and Goold Hoyt, in the State of North Carolina, and for thier use, and on the approval of Willett Bronson, Superintneteding Agent, endororsed hereon, we, the said William Redmon, Jr, by Francis M. Scott, his attorney, and Francis M. Scott, Trustees, as foresaid, have bargined, sold, released, and confimend, and by these present do herby bargain, sell, release and confimn unto the said Wm Swafford all that certain peice or parcel of land, situate in the County of Cleveland. Seventy eightacres on the land in Said county on the Waters of Knob Creek Patent #1027 This document goes on to record the land survey. At one time I think this document was in one piece, but now, it is in 2. It has come apart at the fold. So, this one would be easy enough to make copies of. May 1886. This document is for that an area of land Patent 1027 for 57 acres adoining the land of Wm Swofford as mentioned above (Waters on Knob Creek). All above metioned are involved with the exception of Isaac Bronson and Wm. Swofford. this document if very large and printed on a rice type paper. It too will have to be professionally copied. 1919.. Mortgage Deed for land in Cleveland Co. Township 10. Purchased by David Buff and Mittie Sain Buff. Bryson Hoyle signs and seals the document as Notary Public. His signature does apppear along with the notary seal that bares his name. This document is double sided and legal size. It will have to be professionally copied. My copier will not do documents this large in their entirety. (If it does, I have not yet figured it out) This is all I have come across so far. I found these in a wooden box of papers belonging to my grandfather David Buff. I have yet to finish going through all of the contents of the box.
