Who was the father of Solomon Hovis, b. abt. 1823 in NC, found on the 1850 federal census in Gaston Co., NC with wife Ann, and children Francis (4M) and G.P. (1M)? He's next door to Susannah Hovis, apparently a widow, age 60, who may be his mother. I'm questioning a relationship between the Hovis family and my Eli Stroup, b. about 1801. Thanks, Reiley Kidd Seattle
