John Wesley Pope-b. 1872 in NC-m. Laura Beard 20 Nov. 1881. In 1900 Catawba County federal census, he was living in Newton Twsp w/Laura and 7 of his 8 children. The 8th child possibly died very young. Both Wesley John and Laura are buried at Eastview Cemetery in Newton NC. John Wesley's parents, according to his death certificate in Register of Deeds office are Alfred Pope and ?. His marriage record state his parents were Alfred and Lurie Pope. Was John Wesley the s/o Alfred Pope who was the son of Elijah and Eva Pope of Iredell County? Elijah and Eva both buried at Sharon Lutheran Church, Iredell County.
