An interesting Setzer marriage took me a long time to prove. George Naugle, born c1765 in PA or MD, and died in 1824 in Lincoln County, NC. I believe he was buried at Old St. Paul's or on his own land. George Naugle/Noggle/Nail/etc. married Catherine Setzer, born NC c1775 and died after 1850, while living in Chickasaw County, MS, with her daughter,Sarah (Naugle) Huffman. Catherine (Setzer) Naugle was the d/of Jacob Setzer, II, and Maria Elisabeth Hildebrand, and the granddaughter of Jacob Setzer I and Mary Boovey. Jacob Setzer II served in the Revolutionary War from Franklin County, Ga and moved back there in 1816. One of Catherine's brothers, Christopher Setzer, moved there in the 1820's. (Speculation): Catherine may have gone with her brother to join her parents. Question: Polly Naugle, the d/of George Naugle and Catherine (Setzer) Naugle, married a Setzer. Who? I have ordered the Setzer book, but it hasn't come yet.
